An Introduction + My Story

Hello and welcome to my {new} blog! I am so excited to be posting again and sharing my most recent work + a glimpse into  my everyday life as a florist, photographer, wife and baker! To begin, I thought I would give you a backstory on how I started in photography and my creative journey. I look forward to sharing this new adventure with you!

My Story

My love for photography began in 2009 after I borrowed my boyfriend Dan's (now husband!) SLR camera. I would convince my younger sister to model for me as we chased after the golden hour. I fell in love with portrait photography and soaked up as much knowledge as I could.

After connecting with local wedding photographers, I spent the next few summers as a second shooter. This was the most beneficial way for me to learn the ins and outs of wedding photography and I would highly recommend it to anyone starting out!

Around this time I began dental hygiene school in Great Falls, MT. Weekly clinics, community service and in-depth science courses filled most of my time. All the while I was still photographing and blogging. I took photos of my fellow student's children, did family photos for my instructors and even marketing photos for the dental hygiene program. Looking back I should have known this is what I was meant to do all along!

Upon completing my degree in Great Falls, my whole life was about to change. After 2 unsuccessful WREB exams, I came to a point where I had to decide which path I would take. I could either go back to school or do something completely different. Not long after, I found a job opening at the cutest little flower shop - Mum's Flowers.

I have worked for Mum's Flowers for almost 4 years and love it just as much as when I first started. Since then I married my amazing, supportive and encouraging husband Dan. We purchased our first home and have built a cozy life with our yorkie Ollie. I still photograph a few weddings a year along with family and engagement sessions. You can view more of my work here. Most days my husband and I can be found cooking together (we are both homebodies!) walking our dog or taking day-trips to Glacier National Park.

Introduce yourself below! I would love to meet you!
